They use “san” in the subs I believe and that is a gender neutral suffix. In english we don’t have gender neutral phrases for people that wouldn’t sound awkward. Also to the person below or above me me, that doesn’t mean anything, I know plenty of girls who aren’t comfortable around girls me being one of them. Also plenty of countries have a general rule not to hit girls. The author didn’t specify a gender for Chrona. Chrona is supposed to be androgynous. To be honest I know curiosity plays a factor but for the most part I don’t understand why most people make such a big deal about Chrona’s gender.

Actually, in the english dub, a couple of episodes in; when Maka fights Crona, and when Stein comes in, they say he’s a boy. Plus, even though his voice is kinda girly, it’s still a guy’s voice.

Crona doesn’t exactly have a gender in the Japanese version. However, I believe that in the English version, he’s a boy~ I don’t know if I have any proof, but he just seems like a guy to me, despite his feminine features *shrugs* And hey, I can’t be a fangirl of a girl now, can I? Although Kid’s still better~

Oh, and Death the Kid’s English voice actor also plays Hikaru Hitachiin from Ouran, and *snicker* Keroro from Sgt. Frog! I thought that was kind of funny… And I love all of those shows, so of course I’ve taken a liking to Mr. Haberkorn~ ^^

However in the Japanese version Crona is a girl.
In the English version is an earlier episode he was stating something about he can’t hit girls. HE. Also when Stein saved Maka and Soul, Stein said he when referring to Crona.
In the Japanese version Medusa referred to Crona as a her.

Chuck Huber. He is Emperor Pilaf, Garlic Jr., Master Shen, and Android #17 from Dragon Ball. You can really hear the similarity with #17.
