lol, yeah. I thought it was a girl at first until Soul said, “he”. Then I thought of Chrona as a boy. Then Medusa goes and says “Chrona is my real daughter”…
So confusing.
But this anime kicks ass. Keep up the good work Tadashi!

Ehh I always thought that maybe Medusa wished that Chrona was a girl so she dressed him up as… a girl. o_O
actually some people call chrona a SHE and some a HE so its still hasnt really shown if chrona is a guy or girl. if only maka cut chrona’s shirt or something so we can see if its a boy or girl!!!
but there is a part where chrona is like ‘i dunno how to deal with guirls’ so doesnt that make him a guy? but i agree with pyery he is wearing a dress but maybe hes just weird or gay or something like that.
there are a lot of clues in the anime about chrona’s gender but alot of the clues contradict eachother.

I think reading the manga and watching the anime is both pretty good. Because the anime seems to be following each chapter in the manga so it’s along the same story lines and there’s only been one extra episodes and that’s the one where Ox Ford meets Excaliber.
So it’s up to you. They’re both pretty good. ^^

Megavideo kept saying the video was unavailable when I tried embedding. It wasn’t my fault it was Megavideos. SO I just got rid of theat crap and added imeem. I know Imeem loads slow but atleast it loads as a non-veoh source. If that still doesnt work just post a comment.

@DiveIntoRiteousness: In the anime, they’ve subbed it as ‘child’ because she says ‘kodomo’. The manga you read is a fanslation (translated by a fan group, not official) and they have probably interpreted ‘kodomo’ as daughter because Chrona does look like a girl.
There is nothing official saying Chrona is a girl or a boy yet, which is possible for something in Japanese because they don’t have specifically feminine or masculine pronouns – when referring to Chrona they would use non-gender specific words. Chrona refersto his or herself with the pronoun “boku” which is traditionally masculine, but can be used by girls, and because of his/her strange upbringing and insanity, coupled with the fact that he/she has been taught from a very young age to kill and to be evil, it would make sense if Chrona gave his or herself a more masculine verion of “I”. If Chrona used “atashi” (another way of saying “I” or “me”), we would assume him/her to be a girl. Confusing!! XP

i’m thinking that the reason why krona was in a dress when he/she was a child is because medusa was training krona. In the old times in japan, they would make little boys dress in girl’s clothes to build up one’s courage. But i think medusa used it to weaken krona.
but that is IF krona was a boy
even in the site itself said the krona’s gender was UNKNOWN… so we won’t find out until later

This episode really disappointed me. I was really looking forward to a good “Black Blood vs. Black Blood” fight. But instead they gave a long boring trip inside Chrona’s head.

As for Chrona, i guess it kinda goes like the old GBA game… umm.. whats it called? Swordcraft Story 2 or something like that where you make weapons and whatnot. in the second one you can choose this “child of the wind” who dresses like a girl and talks like a boy. Its name is Ano, or Arno.
in the game they would constantly bring it up if shes/hes a girl or boy. and it would reply “I’m a child of the wind.” Im not so sure about the japanese version but in the english one he sounds like a boy. Well, back to the point i just think they work in a similar way. Maybe its a boy or maybe its a girl.You never know unless they lift up their skirt 0_o

Actually no she’s not a guy because she said she didn’t know how to deal with girls… its common for a girl to feel nervous around other girls, like she can’t fit in. Chrona doesn’t seem the type to have dirty thoughts so why would it mean she’s a guy? She just doesn’t know how to deal with anything xD no matter the gender.
