Now that I think about it, Black Star has been getting owned alot, especially by Mifune. He was barely a contest in that fight. I never expected Mifune to return and be so strong, even Sid could barely handle him. It’s surprising how Black Star got beat by Kid in hand to hand combat since Black Star is much stronger. But Black Star in his current state is weird, once he gets back to winning he should go back to normal

I think Black Star would beat Narutos ass. I don’t think that they would ever fight for real (because they are both good people) so Naruto wouldn’t fight with everything he has, but Black Star always give everything, because he wants to surpass God.
NO ONE will be able to beat Soul!

I think Black Star is way cooler, but I also thinks that Naruto has a bigger heart, and cares more about people.

So i was wondering…Are the characters in soul eater supposed to be semi-immortal or what? when i saw the fight with blackstar vs mifune round 2 he got cut up by like 12 swords and acted like nothing happened?! i was under the impression mifune was a regular human but what of the rest of them?
I think the Soul Eater characters have the Kenny Syndrome. Meaning that, like Kenny from South Park, terrible things can happen to them and they show up healthy and all right in the next scene/episode.
Though to be honest, a LOT of the blows in the fighting scenes should be fatal, like when Medusa used her snakes to turn her hand into a screw attack into Stein’s stomach, and the fight with the sword, like you say, and countless others that I don’t want to say because you’re not that far in, or you are and I don’t know it. Either way, I hate spoiling stuff for people.
Maka walking through Crona’s soul reject spikes is another good one.
actually, the drill to stein’s stomach wouldn’t be instantly fatal, and could (a slim chance, but still possible) be repaired.
and when maka walked through crona’s soul reject spikes and got cut on the neck, it didn’t go deep enough to hit the major blood vessel there, it wouldve just hit the muscle/tendon. again, possible and likely death, but it’s also possible to recover from.

Really people Naruto. Sorry but that show is really getting on my nerves, like most drawn-out stuff does. I mean, it takes them over 9000 years to get to the point, flashbacks abound, and the story never resolves itself ever… how long has Sauske been missing, over 2 years now maybe more.
When it comes to anime, I stick mostly to studios like bones who do the 2 or 1 season series. At least you go somewhere.
plus, KAMINA IN GURREN LAGANN DESTROYS BLACK STAR AND SAUSKE WITH A GIGA DRILL BREAKER!!!!!

@ The old Naruto vs Black Star discussion:
I do think that the two are somewhat similar. Some similarities I see are-
•They both strive to become stronger. Naruto wants to be Hokage and Black Star wants to be strong enough to be referred to as a God or be stronger than one.
•They can be annoying, loud and boisterous in most situations, but they can become serious when they need to.
•I try to compare the ‘darkness’ in them with the fox in Naruto and with Black Star trying to harness the dark powers in the Fey Blade. (I think in the manga somewhere, Black Star was referred to as a Demon/Darkness God instead of just a God when he interacted with the spirit in the Fey Blade)
•They can both be stubborn and ignore orders to do something else that they believe is better or right. Like if they were given an order to ditch their friend and do something else, both of them would probably ignore that order and save the friend.
I do agree that Naruto seems like he has more heart than Black Star. Black Star still has a good heart, but it’s a bit rugged. Black Star does seem more conceited in my opinion though. He tends to hide good intentions or forgiveness with a slightly harsh persona.
It’s hard to compare characters in different anime series in battle since the way they fight, the weapons/spells/attacks they use and the way they think of things during battle can be very unbalanced.
If Naruto and Black Star were both put into the same anime (if they were both in the Soul Eater anime or the Naruto anime), I think that they would be pretty equal.
That is, if Naruto doesn’t use his insane attacks or use the fox’s power or if Black Star had more abilities.
People need to keep in mind that it’s really unfair because Naruto has A LOT of techniques while Black Star mainly tries to knock down the enemy early in the game with his own few techniques, speed and Tsubaki’s various weapon forms.
Naruto is insanely strong while I think Black Star’s strength is a -bit- more reasonable for a kid. Naruto -almost- comes close to DBZ with making huge craters with energy, blowing up buildings and all that jazz. xD;;;
Naruto could simply obtain the weapons themselves when Black Star needs Tsubaki. However, Tsubaki would be much much stronger than a normal shiruken or a normal blade. The problem is that a person with a single weapon and few techniques can be easier to deal with than someone with many techniques (if they both had the same speed, defense, speed, spirit, staminaect. I say those stats are pretty close between the two)
Since Tsubaki takes forms of weapons that are somewhat common in Naruto’s world, I think Naruto would be able to dodge or block attacks made with Tsubaki.
Black Star does have that wavelength attack, decent strength and great speed, but he’s not at his full potential without Tsubaki. Naruto doesn’t really need any support. Without any support, Naruto could still fair decently on his own. Without any support, Black Star could be in a tight spot.
The stronger people in Soul Eater like Stein, Shinigami-sama, Medusa, that insanity guy (I think his name was Asuza?), Chrona (when she was with the powered up Ragnorok) and Free would be able to beat Sasuke or Naruto.
I think that the normal Maka+Soul (without the help of black blood and insanity), Death the Kid, Black Star, Sid, Ox, the guy with thunder+fire, Blair, Mizune+Eruka and the others wouldn’t be able to beat Naruto or Sasuke.

Plus I was incredibly bored. This probably makes me look like an anime nut, right? x’D I’m just generally weird and tend to blabber on various things, not just on anime. I actually liked Black Star in this episode. In all the other episodes, to me he just supplied comic relief. I like the whole “White Star” thing. Though I think they should’ve introduced a little earlier, it’s getting close to the end. And also, 2 thumbs up to Kid for not losing, I thought they were gonna change the tide of the match like in most animes, but they kept it fairly even.

but still u cant compare Black star agaisnt naruto, casue if naruto didnt have 9 tails he wouldnt be that strong and black star doesent have any attacks just with tsubaki , so i think they could go pretty far in a duel^^ but who win i would not know. blackstar is fast and naruto is chicken rasengan user:p
So many things wrong with this statement…1st supposedly Naruto would actually be far stronger if he didnt have to contain teh 9-tails within him. its said his own chakra is suppressed because it has to hold back the 9-tails, so the fact that he has soo much chakra even minus the amount being used to hold it back, he’d be ridiculous without it. 2nd Black Star does fight both alone and with Tsubaki. 3rd Naruto is anything but a chicken, and 4th Naruto beats Black Star in speed, sorry.

Black Star vs. Naruto
Maka vs. Sakura
Death the Kid vs. Sasuke
Ox vs. Shikamaru
Stein vs. Kakashi

Black star vs Naruto: BLack star wins, Fey blade + shadow star? And naruto is a wimp pretty much without sage or fox, and both of those take time to load up.

going back to someone saying that naruto is a magical universe while soul eater is a more technical one.
say naruto were to cross over to the soul eater universe. because of the nature of the universe naruto must rely solely on his chakra which would act as his soul wavelength since magic does not exist here. this would certainly give black star the advantage since he is faster and could use his wavelength to interupt naruto from using kyuubi’s wavelength.

say black star were to travel to the naruto universe. not only is he an all around faster individual but a whole world of magic has just opened up to him. he could use similar tricks to overwhelm naruto along with taking his wavelength which now acts as chakra and cram it up any one of narutos orifices to overload and/or disable him.

I like the way this anime layers the character’s personalities and plot line.
It builds very nicely. I probably won’t know everything about certain characters until the very end. It’s refreshing.

Yes, Black Star and Naruto act similar. Hand to Hand, Black Star would win. Ranged, Naruto would win. Now Naruto could also likely outlast Black Star, and has better improvisation skills. Black Star, on the other hand, has a greater base of skills, and has weapon skills. Naruto is close ranged, so is Black Star. Black Star, however, doesn’t need time to charge attacks, or hand seals. Black Star would win, however it would be close, unless Naruto was to go long ranged. Naruto is also better as a ‘ninja’ then Black Star, who is an assassin.
>Crona’s Gender? I think male, as his/her voice sounds male, and he/she is flat as a board. Also, translations refer to Crona as male in most cases.
