Naruto and bleach have a larger fanbase also, they are regularly subbed by the same group who gets the raws as they are aired and begins subbing immediately. There isn’t that much insistence from the soul eater community/subbers
im up to date on most of my anime’s so im waiting to get most of them subbed so thats 1 pain in the arse and the other is that ****ing megaupload with its !!cursed limiting power!! =[ 72 mins my arse

so basicly it comes out on monday and is subbed by thursday/friday/saturday??? thats not so bad… that way i can have an hour long anime release special by watchin naruto then bleach then soul eater yaaaayyyyy. but what by weekday is it usually subbed? this is the first episode i have to wait for! awsome series …. i went in ma room and didnt come out of there till i finish episodes 1-39 … i was hungry as hell and went to the washroom looolz
Just so you guys know, Crona is referred to as a girl by Maka, and medusa, and ragnarok has tried to pull her skirt up. Yeah Crona IS referred to as an “it” but that just because they’re assholes
I’d find it unlikely that one of the bigger subbing groups would pick up Soul Eater as it (for now) has a short runtime.
I personally dont mind the long time for subs (here’s to me for not learning Japanese as I told myself I would, atleast I learned to be patient).
I’m not going to complain about anything really, everything for Soul Eater is pretty much served to me on a silver platter thanks to the person(s?) running this site.
So thank you for running this site, whoever you are.
One thing concern me… why they make magna and anims so different? Ok, i can uderstand anime should be more interesting, but reading manga and then watching anime, leave me a cind of unsatisfied feeling. It’s just like anime is made shourtcut way

Personally, people who read manga are hardcore otaku’s. Since this anime seems like it is for mainstream viewers there are certain things that need to be added to the show inorder to make sure the anime viewers (the viewers that count) are content. My only worry is that this show ends too quick and loose canonlyscrewing up any chance of a sequel.
well… i personally tried to read the manga, but i just HATED the drawings. so… stupid. i mean, sure, crona’s body always looked wierd, but did it MAKE LOOPS AROUND ITSELF?! i don’t think so. and, yeah, soul always looked hungry, but WAS HE ALWAYS DROOLING?! o, and for the ppl of the manga who wonder how they can wrap the anime up in 51 episodes: there’s already a major difference between the manga and anime. in the manga, in the battle against mosquito for BREW, maka never used demon hunt. never. it’s possible that in the manga it dosen’t even EXIST. so they could do the same thing as fma…
Well. As far as i know Demon hunter exist in manga. And i have to admitt, drawings in 0-1 exp of manga are crap. Point for anime- soul looks much cooler (then mangas Soul Eater ..like goofy kid) Can’t wait new manga and new anime :]

I never said it was a promise, and a few days is an arbitrary term to represent x amount of days. So if you want to get technical, I am not lying.
Well, few days… we have to say it loud: Subbing takes hell lot of time for those who sub it. Not to complain, but just make this clear. I watch naruto,bleach, soul eater,tora dora..and read as above without tora dora…. and due to new year it’s such a dely in eps…that i need to find some other anime/manga to fill the time gap

I understand your, er, impatience in getting your hands on a subbed copy, but no taking it out on the Admin! Heh, the admin is doing us all a FAVOR, and has no control over what day the subbers get the stuff out.
I did spot the Spanish-subbed version floating around the web for episode 39.. why not try that out? Or, pull out the good ol’ Japanese dictionary and watch the raw?

Like Full Metal Alchemist?
Full Metal Alchemist wasn’t the first manga to have an anime that diverts majorly from the story. The only thing that was done that was unusual was allowing the director (or somebody) just create the rest of the story when the anime caught up with the manga. They usually create a filler-arc.*
*Filler-Arcs: See Bleach or Naruto after Sasuke leaves.

I think any anime can be great and go on for a long time so long as the story continues to build up throughout. Also, no fill in arcs. Rather than that simply keep the fighting to a minimum and increase the stories suspense (much like Soul Eater). I will one day accomplish this goal!

One: You talk as if it’s his job to provide you with this. He does this to be nice and let people view the episodes here. He could just take the whole site down all of a sudden if he really wanted to since he doesn’t actually have to do this. (or she. lol…sorry, new here, so idk if the admin is a she or he. XD )
And secondly. He didn’t promise. If I recall correctly, he said he’d try to get it up in the next few days. Also, I guess you’re not good with math type things when it comes to words like, “few” Couple is 2. Few is 3. He said a few days after the day it was released in Japan. It was released on the 5th. So, the third day would land on the 8th. In other words, since the day was obviously not over yet when you posted that, even if he had promised to get it on here in a few days, that proves that he hadn’t yet lied. (and no, not saying he lied. saying that if he had promised. but he didn’t. he said he’d try. so, there’s your big difference)

Crona was f@!#@*g adorable in this episode!XD just too cute, at the scene where crona says “because she’s my mother”, i thought i was gonna cry, and crona’s face at 19:16 was just tooo unbelievably cute! DX plus maka’s seyuu has some talent, cuz when maka said “so…shall we go back?”, it made my heart skip a beat (only the spectacularly amazing soul eater can cause these types of feelings)^^ i luv it to much for it to end at 51 episodes!
to respond to elwin’s “why wont shinigami kill her [crona]?” its because crona is the main motivation behind the next arc, if it happens, since the anime looks like it may be diverging from the manga, sorta like what they did with FMA

Since there is the large possibility that the translators preferred crona as a girl. or maybe a mistranslation. I personally think that crona’s gender was meant to be unknown to allow our minds to create weird couplings o3o. honestly, just because the translations said “daughter” doesn’t necessarily mean that crona’s a girl. Since accuracy is a very important part to this argument. You’ll notice that they keep on referring crona as a “he” on this part or a “she” on this part. but most of the time they would refer to crona as “it” or just say crona. The factor is that crona will remain an “unknown” until either we see crona naked or it’s revealed.

This whole Crona being a boy/girl thing is making my head hurt!!!!! I’ve been trying to listen to how people address Crona in Japanese, but they never actually say “him” or “her” they only say like “that kid” or “Crona”. I never actually heard anyone say “daughter” (then again, my japanese isn’t the greatest), but if they did, then it could be bad subtitling or just some sort of symbolic thing. Then I try to think of Crona as a girl. But then my mind says “why does he/she say “boku”?”. In Japanese anime’s/ mangas the way a person refers to him/herself is very thought out in order to fit that person’s personality. In the case of girls it’s normally “watashi”. “Atashi” would make a more feminine girl and a person who say’s his/her own name (normally in the case of females) would indicate a very passive or shy character. In the case of boys the general way of saying “I” is “Boku” which is what Crona says. There is also “Ore” which is what a tougher guy would say (like Soul) and “oresama” which arrogant, full-of-themself guys would use (like Black Star). There are many other ways of addressing oneself in Japanese, but I don’t want to drag on longer then I already have. If a girl were to say a guyish way of saying “I” then that would indicate a tomboyish tough girl and I’ve only heard this instance twice in anime’s.
I think the translators are definately confused, so we can’t base it on what the subtitles are saying. It might not ever be known, unless they reveal it. Based on my knowledge of Japanese and anime, I am about 90% sure that Crona is a guy (however 10% of that 90% might just me wanting Crona to be a guy because I though he was a guy from the start). But it really confuses me……

I do feel bad for Chrona and Eruka though. D: Sure, Eruka has done some (a lot) stupid things (HAY, LETS PUT EVERYBODY IN DANGER BY REVIVING THE THING THAT TRIED TO KILL FREE AND I!), but it’s out of fear of being torn from the inside out by Medusa’s snakes. Also, her best friend died because of it. In the beginning, she wanted to stop Medusa but failed. It doesn’t seem like all of the time, Eruka is willing to go along with Medusa’s plans.
At the beginning I thought Chrona was a boy and now I think it’s a girl. X_X; I’ll confuse myself if I try to find evidence for one side of the discussion.
I just have to say chibi Ragnorok is kinda amusing when he gets frustrated. xD;
There are a lot of stereo typical comment users in here well some that is, so allow me to:
1. To those people who think that Vampire Knight is an anime version of Twilight, allow me to say: NO IT IS NOT.
2. Just because Twilight came out ( and has a bad reputation ) everyone goes and assume that every vampire genere is going to be like Twilight. Well , no it isn’t.
Last time I checked, Twilight is a new concept, and there were tons of original concepts that came before Twilight.
So, people need to stop assuming.
As for Soul Eater,
It was already establish in heres middle of the series, that Chrona was a feamle. In the begining it was confusing because it was unknown, and I doubt seeing her naked will help. Seeing how most anime characters do not have sexual parts ( like being nominally human but with no parts ) there is also the factor of flat chested females so seeing her “Breasts” may be a hard concept to grasp hehe.
After finishing the episode I guess they are still referring to Crona as him…Hm
I guess is nominally “it”.
Though one must wonder, when Crona’s partner lifts Crona’s dress, and Crona gets irritated so isn’t that a female cliche? Hehe.
Agh, this ongoing battle on whether Crona is either a guy or a girl is starting to make my head hurt XP In truth, I thought that Chrona was a guy from the start, and I still think that Chrona’s a guy. I don’t know…. still, I sure hope that Chrona isn’t a girl XP He just… well, i’ve seen other guys from certain animes that have hardly any backbone, like Chrona, so I don’t see why people keep thinking hes a girl. And even if his voice is high pitched, thats because he’s voiced by a woman, lots of male characters are to make them sound younger or more innocent. The only thing hinting at all that he would be a girl would be the fact that his clothing appears to be some sort of a black nightgown. And plus, if he was a girl, wouldn’t he have a chest? I’m not a pervert or anything, but the rest of the girls in this series do, and I think Chrona would too if he was meant to be a girl.
Maka’s so simple minded. How could you not be mad that someone you put all your trust in just betrayed you like that. I don’t give a damn about all that stuff Chrona was saying, I’d been pissed.(Note: I think Chrona’s a guy)
