I am actually a fan of Medusa.. well, not her behavior, but her character. I mean- her need for success, and how it branches into using people, going undercover in enemy territory, abusing/torturing her own child.. it’s mind boggling!
I give her tons of credit. Even though I despise her for being so damn successful. Grrr..
Oh, and Soul is awesome, for the sheer fact that he plays an instrument. ::Cheers for music geeks everywhere!::

i love this series but maka n soul are messed up. Maka is lackin confidence and soul needs to open up a lot cuz hes always keepin to himself trying to be cool. patty and death the kid are ma favs, their cool and they just do they thing with no problems. Black star annoyed me when he couldn’t handle failure… pretty weak. My #1 episode is when they had to take the exam. So funny ma cheeks were hurtin so bad after. #2 episode was the one with stain vs medusa, cool fight!

I don’t like Mr.deeez’s opinion on the Show…
Imo maka is one of those useless protoagonist that maybe does something cool once in awile. Even if she did manage to defeat the kishin it wouldn’t change my opinion of her one bit. Soul is just cool the way he is, I don’t want to see soul turn into Shiji Ikari.. Death the kid is pretty awesome. Patty I couldn’t care less , except for Medusa and Arachne most of the female characters in this show, though I wouldn’t all are pretty useless/boring or uninteresting (but I still love you tsubaki). BlackStar is a badass, he gets the shonen character never accept dfeat attitude right down. Imagine Ichigo from bleach losing all his fights and then giving up that makes a horrible character, Black Strar strives continuously to better himself. Better imo than emo maka, or super emo Chrona.

anime is great the way it is and i dont agree why that thing about black star hi is like most of the main caracters that means hi is stupid,got aditude problems,funny(things that heapens to him are funny not like he is comedian) so i hate him but hi is one of the main parts of this anime

Gah! Maka is so fucking annoying, and Soul, despite what he may think, ain’t all that and a bag of cheetos, either. Why did they have to be the (Main-)protagonists? Gaaaah!! I’d much rather prefer Death the Kid and the Thompsons to be the (Main-)protagonists! They’re much cooler and funnier than Maka and Soul. Although, the symmetry thing does get annoyning after the third gag.
No. Black Star and Tsubaki should be the (Main)-protagonists! They already have more depth than the other characters, and well, he has a fucking black katana.
But in all seriousness, I hate Maka, and I dislike Soul.

On a lighter note, I can’t decide which I like better! The Manga or the Anime? Both have their favored points with me. I like most of the situation the Manga set up, but the Anime possess some cool plot points to and have animated battles, music, and kick-ass scenes.
The Manga does also possess something else I can’t put my finger on. Something that makes it worthwhile. It is not the fanservice; I can’t stand it most of the time. It is probably the execution of the events. The Anime possessed the same general ideas as the Manga, but it seems that the former executes them better. Well, it does in my opinion, but who cares about my opinion?

The Kishin has more to him than I first thought. Now that I actually pay attention, his hair is odd. Maybe it is irreleveant right now, but it could also have a similar function to Kid’s and Shinigami’s hair. Maybe the Kishin is a being related to the Shinigami race. Time will tell. It is probably irrelevant, but if it is correct, remember this motha fucka said it hopefully first.

@BlackGuy … wow, I since a white washer on the board. Ehhhhhh now to get back on the Soul Eater topic. Maka and Soul are decent characters, I enjoy them the way they are. Even though they have they have their stereotypes, they tend to get away from the typical anime/manga protaganist, very refreshing. I dont wanna see them pull an Ichigo or Naruto and just surpass everyone and always win. Id watch DB or DBZ for that. I like that even minor characters are stronger than them and that they dont always win. Sure Death and Black are strong and have great stories, but the lead role was meant for Soul/Maka and so it shall be. It makes the show soooo less linear and in-depth without feeling scattered and organized. YAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNN. Tired. Oh yeah, I already made the assumption the Kid and Kinshin were related… haha. Watch or read the Demon God revival part. When Asura hits Kid with his foldy skin he gets an outlining of a third eye on his forehead, BlackStar doesnt get shit when hit. Interesting? No?
Dont forget that both Kid and Kinshin have OCD problems and the have that white/black hair…
Ya know what…they haven’t shown Blair the witch in so long…I thought of that when the whole pumpkin underwear thing came up and when I saw the pumpkin on the ending credits.

I always enjoyed Death kid’s episodes and primarily Blackstar/ tsubaki’s adventures more than those of soul and maka. Don’t get me wrong I liked them alot in episode 1, but after they introduced those 2 characters they seemed to drift further and further away from my overall interest. I do believe that Death the kid and definitely Black Star have more character depth than either soul and certainly maka.@Ultimateloser when you first create an anime/manga I don’t think you really have all that depth and stuff shaded in, you kind’ve pencil it in along the way. Personally, I think while Soul/maka were intended to be the main protagonists, several chapters or in this case episodes down the road the overall depth in there characters is pretty shallow…

Medusa is a far better character than Arachne, I’m still yet to see what Arachne can do, but so far all I have seen her do is ordeer Giriko and Mosquito around. Anyways I like Mifune best since he is the only normal character (not a meister, magician, etc.) yet his Soul is even bigger than Black Star’s

Justin and Giriko are definetly the two coolest characters in the show. I hope their final fight together will be as epic as their few minor skirmishes…
