My guess is Mifune decides to stop working for Arachne while still helping Angela. Also I really wanted Crona to die just to have some deatn of main characters

if you want death of main characters, read gantz. i recommend it, it’s really good. however, really gory and there’s loads of sex, blood and violence. it’s still wicked though

- That Fight was Awesome, Especially since Mifune was having Deja vu. It was like he was fighting the same fight again with the same person….almost. Mifune vs White Star in the past and Mifune vs Black Star in the present with the same technique, fight style and weapon. It look like it was move for move.

- I see that Eibon has some relation to shinigami but since I don’t understand Jap, I guess I’ll have to wait until it’s subbed.

Oi, totally hope this episode comes sooner than the other one did. The subbers had their reasons, but…D: BLACK STARRR.

And just to think, less than five episodes away from the series being finished. What needs to be resolved? Kishin, Arachne, the key that Death the Kid got and BREW (along with Eibon), Mifune (Yay for this episode!)..o.O And apparently Excalibur?

Now, personally, I think that Blackstar “Dying” is just a segway for him to finally overpower that deer thing inside him. It seems like that’s the only way he’ll win, and those white zombie things in the preview look like the ones around him in the manga. Of course, having them change half of his fight goes against that, so I dunno’. Still, I hope they end it like the manga did, that was epic.

i think though that there will be a bit more episodes left, maybe 30 give or take…… but when shinigami showed everyone who was a part of his crew, there were like a million ppl, and maka and them ppls still need to get death scythe. anyway, cant wait till sub comes out!!!

After reading some of the Manga I realised…

—-{MANGA [Chapter 48] SPOILERS}—-
The Manga is WAY different. Black Star is injured at this point, Medusa is supposed to be helping the rest of the students infiltrate the castle, THEN Black Star spoils everything by bursting on to the scene setting off all the traps and triggering the alarms. And these minor students like Ox and Kilik aren’t so minor and are an important part of this mission. Kim is a witch… And most importantly Medusa isn’t dead…

The point I’m getting at is that if they followed the Manga a bit more. Soul Eater would last a lot longer than 51 episodes. It probably wasn’t even necessary to start on the Anime so early. It is like they have caught up so they have to change the story. I can’t see how they’ll pull off a decent ending with only 5 episodes left as well

And I recommend reading the Manga as well. I’m not a Manga person but after reading, they seem to go into more depth about character personalities and explanation. Despite lack of action it is much more detailed

I just caught up on reading the Manga and other than seeing all the fights animated the Manga is a hell of a lot better! I hope they extend the anime to set for a good ending in line with the Manga,(just wishfull thinking) Is it just me or is Black Starr BEYOND FUCKING AWESOME!!?!?

Not that I would love more Soul Eater, but if they need to stray from the manga it’s really not so bad. Who would want to sit through a hundred plus filler episodes just to finish the main story ala Naruto. Just imagine how many more annoying Excalibur episodes they would do. *shudder*

What really irritates me is I adore and worship Takehito Koyasu, but listening to him as Excalibur makes me want to cry. It just doesn’t suit his talents at all.

Figures the sub would come out so friggin early the ONE week where I prepare myself not to anticipate it.

I don’t actually know why it was released so early, you can tell it is incomplete, several grammatical errors, the next ep preview & a potentially important conversation totally missed out AND spelling mistakes. The 3 sword move Mifune used is called Sword Fang by the way. I’m not complaining though just pointing out reasons why it was early.

And the fight wasn’t as good as I expected. Once again Black Star didn’t even put up a good fight and got beat so easily, I doubt he’ll die though. And Shadow Clones? Please tell me he didn’t call his move shadow clone. In the manga he called it Shadow*Star

I prefer well-made subs to early subs. :/ Oh well, at least they got released at all.

ummm yea so i just watched the subbed version the sub titles are pretty bad just to let you guys know. they really are pretty bad so when you get the chance try to find a better one. there is a section in there with kid and shinigami that isn’t even subbed its just kind of left blank….

Good episode, sad but eh.

Oh and also, there seem to be alot of areas in which there aren’t subtitles at all. As DW said, a little part of Kid and Shinigami isn’t subbed. Also, there are some errors in the subtitles, like spelling in such, but that doesn’t really matter. Plus the ending with the preview of then ext episode wasn’t subbed.

Still good. It came out early so I was happy.

Totally agree about the fight being lame. Black Star seemed to completely suck and get his ass kicked too easily though Mifune had fought his father (White Star is BS father right cause BS calls him his uncle)I liked they’re second fight a lot more though I think this is going to continue. (Eibon mystery really disappointing and easy for Eibon to come out from the Demon Tool)

Wow, amazing episode. I didn’t like the subs, though, I noticed at the part after Kid-kun handed the key over, the subber completely left out a big part of the script. Also, they forgot to sub the next time on Soul Eater part as well

I also agree that the manga is worse =)

Decent enough episode but the subtitles were terrible. Disjointed and just plain wrong the majority of the time, it was very annoying to have to stop every so often to try and figure them out. Was this a different translator? Apart from that, decent enough.

No, he actually didn’t say ‘Shadow Clone’, AKA: ‘Kage Bunshin’, although it may sound extremely similar and the mistake is understandable. XD;

He DID, however, say ‘Shadow Star’. ‘Kage’ meaning ’shadow’ and ‘BOSHI’ meaning ’star’.

Yeah, Kage Boshi. I have no problem with Naruto, but I’d rather they not use the same technique names, for originality’s sake. >_>

Makes me think of DBZ.

The writers should have taken lessons from past anime, and done like in Naruto, where MAIN characters like Jiraya actually die. I guess that’s what makes the plot richer compared to a tipycal shonen “you-thought-the-main-guy-was-dead-but-we-just-wanted-to-freak-you-out-and-keep-you-watching-the-damn-show” plot device. Oh well, I guess they show what the masses want, unlike Kishimoto.

OK he didn’t say ‘kage bunshin’, that is good. BUT I don’t think he said ‘Boshi’ either. My Japanese isn’t great but I’m pretty sure ‘Boshi’ means ‘thumb’. The Japanese word for ‘Star’ is ‘HOSHI’ it sounded like he said Boshi but it would make more sense if he said Hoshi.

Please don’t overhype Naruto, the main characters dying is just a ploy to add flavour to an otherwise bland and tedious story. Read Gantz. That truly showed me how non-important main characters can be. Let’s face it, if it wasn’t for some of the main characters dying, what in Naruto would stand out or make it interesting?

Is it just me or does the alternate link seem identical to the main video?

Where is the person that’s been subbing every other episode? He takes his time and makes sure to get the subs right instead of rushing them out to try and gain some sort of public appeal.

It just doesn’t seem right to me in the beginning. When Black Star says “And here we’ll decide plainly and clearly.” Is this the correct sub or is it supposed to be “And here we’ll decide once and for all.” Because that would seem a lot more befitting of the dialogue and would make a lot more sense.

Naruto had a good start. It was to be an alright anime/manga, but (for the anime the fillers) repition of the arcs ruined it. Now, at the last minute, they wanted to add in real storytelling in by killing off people. Although this is just a cheap plot device to envoke emotions from the fans, it is still something. It is nothing great, but I say it ain’t terrible. No one is overhyping anything.

[What would make Naruto interesting? Well, they are one of the few anime/manga I seen that didn't have the black guy have huge lips and/or pink contrasting lips. The anime/manga has good action when they decide to show it. The chakra system is cool, and it would have been great to have it explained. The nine-tail fox is a big stand-out. When Naruto gains four to six tails, he looks nothing like a fox. It's Kage Bushin is well-known, so I guess that is a standout. It created the meme where you add Jutsu at the end of everything, so I guess the addition of Jutsu on everything is a standout. A lot of the characters had people hooked on the anime/manga. Since the characters gained such popularity, I guess that would make them stand out.]

Soul Eater (Anime), on the other hand, had a great start. It degraded from potentially a great anime to a good anime. Good is good by the way. Oh, yes! It was beautiful at the beginning. However, it hitted itself in the face. To put this frankly, it gave us some great and good episodes while at the same time unload a pile of crap on us. At this point, I’m hoping this will end atleast an above average anime.

[What would make Soul Eater interesting or stand out if they didn't have any atagonists? Seriously, asking a question like that deserves a flamming. Why don't you ask "what if Naruto had a different storyline"? It is almost as stupid as asking what if Titus from Shakespeare's play wasn't a massive douchebag.]

To all of those who are complaining about the subs not being out, the translators do have a life in which is not centered completely around subbing the episodes, I know it takes a while but watchers gotta be patient.

Sorry. xD I think you’re right. I also have a limited knowledge of the language, but I have learned that when two words are combined, sometimes the lettering changes a bit. ‘Kage’ + ‘Hoshi’ = ‘Kageboshi’, similarly to how ‘Shini’ (Death) + ‘Kami’ (God) becomes ‘Shinigami’ (Death God).

Or something like that. >_> Black Star’s personality is frighteningly similar to Naruto’s anyway.

You are right about Naruto having a good start. Despite being extremely slow in storytelling, the first 60 or so episodes were decent, every episode usually ended in a cliffhanger, it was annoying but usually left me wanting more. But, after Gaara turned into that big, stupid looking, animal thing, and Naruto turned into that crappy fox, my head was about to explode so I just retired from watching it. The fight was too stupid, and in the end Gaara just got a big headbutt and he was out cold. I thought Gaara was a cool character before that episode.

There is a lot of action but the action tends to drag on. For example against Zabuza, I got REALLY bored during that fight because it was going at such a slow pace. That sums up Naruto in my opinion. Slow pace, it may have better story telling and characters than a show like DBZ but DBZ had that entertainment value, it rarely got boring, there was rarely too much talking. I even remember the fillers actually being not crap. Specifically the one where Chichi makes Goku and Piccolo get a drivers license and the one where Krillin dumps his girlfriend and 2 seconds later she is driving away with some dude. OK off topic.

NOW SOUL EATER, if I was to be honest it has had a MASSIVE decline from the first season and even early into the second Season. But ever since Crona and Marie went to find Stein, the series has just gone downhill, there are points when I don’t even understand the story anymore, or points when it just gets plain boring. I do want to watch more, but it needs to improve because the story telling is NOT thrilling at all, and that’s the problem, its trying to focus heavily on a story that is not brilliant. I mean CRONA IS ALIVE??? Oh, come on, you set a beautiful, yet sad scene, where Crona finally fights to protect his (My opinion on the gender, I could be wrong) friends, only to die straight after. But instead the writers decide ‘actually lets turn this into one of those generic shonen moments where a character is fatally yet manages to survive for some unknown reason.’ It’s like we are walking on water with this story, the harder we run, the less ground we seem to cover

It needs to speed up the story and increase the action because there are still a bunch of unresolved questions and battles.

=Eibon’s intentions
=The extent of Arachne’s powers
=What will happen with Asura
=Asura’s link with Kid
=Black Star’s hidden potential
=How Maka is able to unlock Demon Hunter mode
=Justin and Giriko’s Rivalry
=Mosquito’s stronger form
=The effects of Asura’s madness infection on the world
=Who would have the power to defeat Asura

I don’t see how they can cover all of this in a couple of episodes. If they skip stuff just to finish in 51 episodes I’d overall be disappointed, and if they just leave it on some stupid cliffhanger that never gets continued, I’d just get pissed off, destroy any memories of Soul Eater I had and move on. This is where the writers need to get their fingers out of their asses and give this a proper ending. The last 5 or 6 episodes haven’t been brilliant but there is still time for improvement I guess.

It was good that Mifune won. I like both characters but lets face it, Mifune was just better. I’m tired of young characters in mangas and animes coming back to beat people after getting their ass handed to them after a short amount of time.So even though this fight was not as visually interesting as it was in the manga it is a hell of a lot more realistic. That being said the whole flash back thing was stupid and felt tacked on.

That being said I agree that the anime is getting progressively worse as time goes on. I hope I still like it by the time the ending of episode 51 rolls around but i’m doubting it now.

Anyone who liked the episode where Crona “died” is insane. That was totally cheap emotional manipulation to get the tears flowing and get Maka angry enough to use the Demon Hunter. Real realistic. We are supposed to believe the situation is critical but none of our main characters die?

On top of that, Medusa v Maka was pathetic. Medusa the grand magnificent bastard of the series was beaten with one attack. Oh god that’s stupid.

I got into Soul Eater because it seemed like the kind of anime that was more realistic when it comes to shounen animes. They had the balls to make the heroes lose some times and even had the stones to put on of the good guy’s motives in question (Shinigami) but now it seems they lost their nerve and they are going for the unrealistic ending where everyone gets to live despite the fact that there should be some casualties amongst the heroes. Retarded.

Have you read the manga?
It goes much longer and the storyline goes in a sorta completely different direction.
I like that this show is only 51 episodes long because then you can usually fit everything that needs to be done and said into the anime right? Usually.
Unless…it’s from a manga, which Soul Eater is so it’s kind of of balanced but it’s still really good.
If this show wasn’t as short as it is it’d be as long as Naruto or Bleach and everyone would get tired of it.

I’m just glad that Soul isn’t really going deep into the madness like I thought he would but Black Star is…weird.
I’m also glad that Chrona didn’t die but it sure looked like he did and it almost would’ve been justifiable for Maka to be able to use the Demon Hunter afterwords.
That is if he actually died. It get’s old kinda fast when an enemy shoots to kill, the good guy get “fatally” wounded but doesn’t die.
I mean even Goku died at least twice. C’mon now.

Also(long comment is long sorry), please stop saying that this show is getting worse. It’s not like it was bad when you first watched it cuz then you wouldn’t still be watching.

Last thing: these subs weren’t that great. I could have waited for better ones. Like Gundam 00, I check everyday but I’ll still wait for decent subs.

I read some of the manga (the parts worth reading) which is why I was more sad when I watched this episode. Black Star v Mifune part 3 in the Manga was good (if pictures are anything to go by) Black Star even unlocked this ultimate Demon sword I have never seen before. In this he just got rinsed. I still like to watch Soul Eater but its just not the same as it used to be

I’m not trying to use Naruto as an example of THE perfect manga. Many times too I thought the plot was kind of “cheap”, but hey it started on a humourous tone. The point that I was trying to make is to show a manga where they went through the same bullshit before (characters suddenly recovering from a fatal wound … happens a lot at the beginning of Naruto), but obviously for a while now the series has taken a much darker tone. The actual deaths makes it just a little bit more consistent, you don’t feel like the people who write are just bluntly playing with your emotions that much. What I was trying to say is I kind of wished soul eater had evolved too, to something a bit darker maybe, even if the humourous tone had to suffer a bit from it. Meh I still think it’s worth watching though, but it did not live to its potential.

They said, at 21:33, Eibon-chan (meaning Eibon’s a girl…

But earlier, I’m pretty sure they said Arachane and Eibon were lovers or at least that’s what I thought they said…

Again, I could be wrong, I also think the -chan honorific can be used for cuteness or whatever, and it was Shinigama who said it so…

Woah woah,wtf is all this? This shit didnt happen in the manga? Whats with excalibur coming out of no where? In the part I was up to in the manga medusa actually teamed up with the shibusen students to reach baba yaga’s castle. And black star actyally kicked ass in his fight with mifune.
They just changed the whole plot around to make their deadline of 51 episodes…

This episode, I’m sure, would be much more satisfying if I COULD ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT WAS THAT THE CHARACTERS SAID. I appreciate the early subbing and all, but seriously, I am so confused! I have no idea what the relationship between Eibon and Arachne was! And it was really annoying that half of the subs had nice capitalization and the other half did not (xD that just really got on my nerves).

Even if it was early subbing, couldn’t the translator have taken the time to at least make the subs look nice? Capitalization wouldn’t take that long! Half the subs weren’t even in correct English!!

Sorry for my rant, but I really want to understand this episode for me to get on to the next one. Does anyone know where to find a better subbed one?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really thankful somebody decided to sub these, but… what would the use of having subs be when I can’t even understand a THING they’re saying? I have to translate them myself, and I’m not even good at Japanese, but I can at least understand it more than the subs.

Demon Slayer (I like calling it that because it sounds better) = Rasenshuriken

Both are WAYYYY too powerful. And too convenient to use.
1. Demon Slayer only kills evil things and it can kill them in one shot AND it’s unblockable. Also,Maka can use Demon Slayer whenever she gets pissed off. (If she played Carnival Games while listening to McFly she would destroy the world).

2. Rasenshuriken tears apart all of the cells in the victims body and it can be thrown AND it’s unblockable. Also, Naruto can use it whenever he wants, with no effects.

See.

Also both the Maka vs Medusa and Naruto vs Nagato fights have bad gimmicks.

1. Chrona dies from a horrible injury and somehow comes back to life.

2. Nagato finds out that Jiriya made a book character that sounds a tiny bit like him, so he gives up.

At last, Chrona and Kakashi both die, but come back to life.

wow the sub title suks sooo not accurate

Eh. I couldn’t really enjoy the episode because the subtitles sucked so much; in format (mispelled words, uncapitalized names) and translation (what was with the lazy bit in the middle where Kid and Death were talking?!) Grammar could’ve used some work too.

Oh well. Thank goodness I know enough Japanese to sort out the subtitles in my head.
But I think I’d be better off watching a RAW version.

… Part way through the video the subtitles cut out, and the translation was not the best.
