Dang, really liking Medusa’s/Crona’s voice actors

FINALLY!!! I’ve been waiting for this forever! Medusa sounds perfect, Crona sounds a little high-pitched but still fitting, and Ragnarok is a little deeper than he’s supposed to be, but still pretty good otherwise. But i’m very VERY happy that they sound as good as they do! I’m so glad Funimation is taking Soul Eater seriously, otherwise this would neve rhave sounded so amazing. Thanks SO MUCH for posting these episodes for us, guys, it means a lot to us fans ^^

I think Crona is a boy
It’s funny cause in the Anime, they all refer to Crona as “he.” So Crona is probably a boy. But in the Manga, they all refer to Crona as “she.” So in the Manga Crona is probably a girl.. plus in the Manga they draw Crona way more femininely.
Actually, even the author of the manga doesn’t know Crona’s gender. In the Japanese manga, they used non-gender-specific pronouns to refer to Crona.

Yah this was sweet. This is my 4th time watching it, its so much better hearing this in english with such well-picked voices. I adore Crona’s voice to pieces, and Medusa is a beaut too. Ragnarok is not desappointing either,and the comdeic voice of deathscythe is really well acted as well!!

o_O you mean they finally decided upon Crona’s gender? Last I heard, Crona was made to have an ambiguous gender, never actually meant to be established as a boy or a girl.
I always thought Crona is a girl since she’s Medusa’s daughter they say in the anime and website later on.
People thought I was crazy when I said that the Japanese Crona is a guy… But I’m not crazy, I’m the only one that’s NOT crazy, I CALLED it!!
In the English language throughout history, masculine reference words have been known to refer to all genders (masculine, feminine, common, neuter). Examples would be the clause that all men are created to be equal or the fact that the genderless God is referred to as “Him” and “He.”
In Japanese, Crona is always referred to using gender-neutral personal pronouns, which to not exist in the English language. Crona is and probably will always remain androgynous, but using neutral pronouns to refer to Crona in the English dub would sound awkward (i.e. the awkwardness of Maka saying “He or she is my friend!” or “I’m going to help Crona because I care about that person. That person needs me.”
After seeing “he” and “she” getting thrown around Crona so much, I’ve come to terms with the fact that he’s andro, and that’s a part of what makes her so incredibly huggable to everyone \(^_^)/

Crona’s gender will always contradict itself with examples that are NOT definite either way. It’s a shklee.
The author Ookubo Atsushi himself never had an intended gender for Crona. The debate is just a part of his master plan to enslave the future of the human race under the rule of the crab people. That’s all :]

In the manga Medusa refers to Crona as her daughter
in the japanese, madusa says shes her daughter (or at least i think she does(havnt watched it in forever)) and she wears a dress so im guessin crona’s a girl unless they mad him a cross dresser!!!

Technically Crona isn’t meant to have an identifiable gender. The creator even said that he didn’t know whether Crona was male or female.
Fun fact though, Crona’s voice actor is also Al’s in the FMA Brotherhood dub
Ok, I gotta admit, when I heard Crona’s voiceactor was the same as Al from FMAB, I had my doubts, but it works really well. And Medusa, so far, is perfect, though I’ll have to see her next episode as the nurse to see if this voice actor can pull off the innocent angle.
Now Ragnorak, that was a bit of a surprise(but then again, so was his original voice), but I’d hardly expect to see something with a build like that having a high-pitched voice in an english speaking country. However, if his voice doesn’t become higher pitched when he goes chibi, I’m going to be very dissappointed.

I have always thought that Chrona was a girl
1)Chrona=feminine spelling of Chronos
2)Wears a dress (although I think in Asian cultures, boys can wear skirts too, I dunno.)
3) Ch 60 last page. Enough said.
4) Acts in a more feminine matter
5) Pink hair
6) Has defined hips (and the flat chest means nothing)
7) Just seems more like a girl.
In response to the argument that Chrona is a boy because s/he ‘doesn’t get along well with girls’, there are plenty of girls out there who find it hard to speak to members of their own gender and age group because they find them intimidating. Plus, Chrona has never been around girls much before. S/he has been around her mother (who is one of the scariest females in the series) and Ragnarok who is more or less male, but never a young girl. So, in this respect, s/he could be unable to talk to girls, because s/he has never experienced them before.
So, girl.
Personally I think that this would make a great game… xD
Chrona reminds me of Ansem from Kingdom Hearts when his weapon is coming out of his back.
Man this series is good, obviously made by guys though. Whenever a girl in weapon form speaks they’re always depicted naked, whereas Soul has clothes when he speaks through his weapon’s blade rim. Maka and Soul are epic and as someone above mentioned it would be an awesome game, so long as they did the graphics right, or it’d be like teken or some crap.

ok im getting tired of people saying Chrona is a girl. they say “OH IN THE MANGA THEY SAY SHE!” …no… in the manga they say “he” and “his” and Medusa refers to him and her own “son” im actually getting really tired of it. but i do agree with the fact that people say that Medusa is trying to make him genderless, making him wear a dress, have pink hair, defined hips etc. and i do understand that in the japenese version they say nouns that mean girl nor boy. but as far as the manga and dub go. he is a boy. that’s my opinoin… well anyway i love this episode, one of my faves X3

What all other people said about this. I love this anime and definitely this episode. Only thing is this is my third time watching it at least, and I just realized now that at the end when she tried to open the large green door when she was trying to escape from the building with Chrona and his weapon, she tried to push it open. But there were obviously the two hook knobs behind her, why didn’t she just pull on those? Other then that idiotic moment, nice. Thanks for uploading this I suppose.

CRONA GENDER DEBATE TIEM
The dub goes with “he” because it’s the more neutral gender pronoun in English (Crona is referred to with completely genderless pronouns in Japanese, and it would just be rude to say “it” ;-;).
The author Atsushi Ohkubo has said that he essentially doesn’t give a damn what Crona’s gender is and that he will continue to troll the fandom at large as he sees fit.
Personally I think Crona is a girl. There’s a spread in the manga where Crona looks… very feminine… but since Ragnarok, who is fused with Crona, is obviously male, that probably has screwed with Crona’s gender identity sufficiently lol.

I just look down the list of comments or casually gaze at them while i wait for my episode to buffer and i smile at what i find. Episode after episode comments is dedicated to depicting the gender of Crona. Now, i have never researched into it but i will just say the Japanese “no gender” thing sounds most sensible. Anway, i like the voices, sounds like Al from new FMA and Spirit is Ed, i can’t be sure, i don’t check the credits, but they sound similar and wicked, like Zero is Ed from Vampire Knight.
Ok, go back to the big debate.

Crona is a boy, yes he wears a dress and has pink hair. for some reason thats all you have to do to be a girl in some peoples eyes, but its not.
